All types of poetry are welcome, from formal to experimental. Emphasis is placed on the ideas conveyed, craft and language, beauty of expression, and the picture that extends beyond the frame of the poem. Quality is paramount. No previously published poems, please. Send up to five poems, no more than three pages total.

Third Wednesday sponsors an annual poetry contest. Send up to three previously unpublished poems of any style, no more than two pages each. The top three winners are awarded equal prizes of $50 each, and their poems appear in Third Wednesday.  Other entries will be considered for publication. Mail to:

Third Wednesday publishes short-short stories of no more than 1,500 words. We do not print genre fiction, or children's fiction. Send only one or two stories per submission.

Black and white pictures that reproduce well in all media are mainly what we are looking for, but we also need the occasional color one for the cover. We would prefer clearly-labeled jpegs attached to an email message. Include in the message your name and snail mail address along with the title of the artworks and the media. Jpegs should be 5-6 inches on the longest side. The pixel resolution should be as close to 300 dpi as possible. The Web standard resolution of 72 dpi is not acceptable for printed images.  Send your artwork to jejacobs@comcast.net

Payment is one contributor copy, plus a small honorarium of $3 to $5.

Rolling. Seasonal work should be sent three months in advance. Thus, poems about winter should be sent in August, spring poems in January, etc.
